Ana Giménez - Esfera Cromáticas
Large resin discs and sculptural pieces, worked with light, matter and transparency.
On show at M&O Living, Calle de Loreto 37, Barcelona · 9 October 2026 to mid-January 2027
Light, matter and transparency
Fine layers of colour are applied with an airbrush on a perfectly smooth, rigid support, then sealed under layer after layer of resin, each one cured before the next, until the surface is almost a mirror. Under warm light a piece glows amber; in daylight it almost burns.
From medicine to matter
Ana came to art from medicine. Her early work, faces, circles, bodies folding in on themselves, already carried the eye of someone trained to observe people closely. Today she works with resin, oil, pigment and recovered materials. The circle returns again and again: continuity, life, and the question of what begins and what ends.
Two series
Esferas Cromáticas: large monochrome discs, up to 180 cm across, in red, mustard, pink, grey-blue and bronze. Living surfaces that change with the light.
Piezas en volumen: the circle swells and stacks into sculpture, like a balloon that stays: Doble Negro, Azul Translúcido and glossy sculptures in black, red and purple, and the wall pieces Contracción and Pliegue inverso.
